The next generation satellite finder: Point your iPhone anywhere towards the sky and all the satellite will appear on the live video screen – very surreal and freaky. Now you know which trees will block which satellite. Uses the accelerometer and the compass of the new iPhone 3GS. The compass has a bit of a lag, so when wheeling the phone right/left the satellite belt is shifted with a slight delay but up and down works in real time. I can’t wait to buy this app. I will be updating from a iPhone 3G to the needed 3GS just to use this! I have a sizable dish farm in Sydney Australia in a rural setting with lots of trees. Finding a clear path to some of the far western satellites (avoiding trees) has been a problem for me. This will make site selection on the property so simple!
